SiPearl is the European fabless designer of sovereign secure high-performance energy-efficient CPUs for HPC, AI and data centres. These CPUs will help address strategic challenges in the fields of security, defence, medical research, energy, climate and engineering with a reduced environmental footprint.

In June 25, SiPearl completed the design of the most complex CPU ever designed in Europe, Rhea1. Featuring 80 Arm Neoverse V1 cores, with 61 billion transistors, it is currently in production at TSMC. Sipearl CPUs will equip the two first European exascale supercomputers belonging to EuroHPC JU: Rhea1 will be integrated into the JUPITER machine based in Germany and Rhea2 will be part of Alice Recoque in France.

Incubated within the European Processor Initiative (EPI) consortium and seed-funded by the European Union, SiPearl employs almost 200 people in :

• France (Maisons-Laffitte, Grenoble, Massy, Sophia Antipolis),

• Spain (Barcelona)

• and Italy (Bologna)

Following a €130 million Series A, the company has launched its Series B round.

💻 About the role

At SiPearl, we are developing highly complex multi-chiplets/multi-sockets CPUs, based on latest technologies for processors, NoCs and overall architecture. Those need best in class emulation platforms, and that's what our team is proud to provide.

SiPearl owns one of the biggest emulation platform in Europe (in-house), a dual Veloce StratoM+, with a total capacity of 128 boards (6BGates) and up to 30 concurrent users 24/7. 

We even model our physical evaluation board (BMC) to shift left the Firmware and Software development pre-silicon and validate pre-tape-out the entire software stack.

As a Senior Emulation Engineer at SiPearl, you will be at the heart of our projects and R&D, and an enabler for all teams success. You will have a key and highly visible lead role to drive a team, deploy new projects, and ensure the highest quality of platform deliveries.

🎯Your missions

• Define emulation strategy: Capture emulation needs, define emulator size, and specify flow for compilation, execution, and debugging.

• Specify RTL changes: Document required RTL modifications for emulation and identify necessary collaterals.

• Collaborate on verification strategy: Contribute to overall pre-silicon verification strategy.

• Develop emulation workflows: Supervise and contribute to developing emulation workflows and integrate hardware/software collaterals.

• Optimize workflows: Propose and implement improvements and automate tools/scripts for debugging and user experience.

• Generate emulation models: tools integrate new EDA vendor features to create models adapted to user needs, debug, and optimize execution speed and model size.

• Interface with suppliers: Work with tool vendors to address issues, provide feedback, and ensure resolution.

• Provide user support: Assist users with emulation platform issues, optimize validation environments, and suggest workarounds.

• Lead collaborative projects: Take responsibility for work packages, act as the main point of contact for partners, and manage project deliverables.

• Lead a highly efficient team: Take leadership of the emulation team. Define and drive the team's tasks execution and mentor your teammates

🔍 What would make you succeed in this role

• At least 10 years of digital ASIC

• At least 7 years of experience on emulation plateform

• Good knowledge on modern CPU architecture

• Experience using verification tools

• Experience with embedded C

• Python, HDL, bash

• Leadership, flexibility and adaptability

• Autonomy & responsability
